2026 Ferrari Elettrica Unveils : 1,000-HP EV Era for Maranellos Iconic Brand

Ferrari Elettrica (2026) : The Ferrari Elettrica marks the brand’s first fully electric production car, blending Maranello heritage with cutting-edge EV tech. According to official data and credible reports, it is expected to deliver over 1,000 hp, accelerate to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and reach a top speed above 310 km/h.

A historic shift for Ferrari’s powertrain DNA

For decades, the name Ferrari has been associated with roaring V12s, thundering V8s and race-bred engines. However, with the Elettrica the marque is entering a new chapter its first ground-up EV. According to Ferrari, the battery modules, e-motors and inverters are being developed in-house at the e-building facility in Maranello. 

Reports suggest a quad-motor configuration delivering more than 736 kW (≈1,000 hp) with 0-100 km/h in around 2.5 seconds and a top speed estimated around 310 km/h. 

The bold move helps Ferrari align with global electrification trends, while still preserving driving dynamics. That said, Ferrari has clarified that its internal-combustion engines will continue to play a key role: by 2030 they aim for about 40% ICE, 40% hybrids and 20% EVs. 
During a test-drive preview (virtual for now) we noticed that this new EV architecture emphasises low centre of gravity, active chassis control and torque vectoring to maintain the emotional Ferrari feel.

Architecture, battery and tech engineering the Prancing Horse’s future

The technical blueprint of the Elettrica is fascinating. According to Ferrari, the chassis uses an extremely short wheelbase inspired by its mid/rear-engined berlinettas, placing the driver near the front wheels for dynamic feedback, while integrating a floor-mounted battery pack to keep the centre of gravity very low. 
Battery details are emerging: credible sources suggest an 880-volt architecture, battery capacity around 122 kWh, and range estimates of over 530 km (under ideal conditions). 


Further tech highlights:

Active suspension and rear-wheel steering (inherited from models like the F80 hypercar) for agility.

Unique sound and shift simulation system: Ferrari has developed a mechanism that picks up mechanical vibrations in the powertrain and amplifies them for an authentic “engine feel” in the EV era.

All major EV components (motors, inverters, cells) produced internally Ferrari emphasises “control over feel and performance”. 
Leaning on Ferrari’s experience from racing and hybrid development, the Elettrica appears designed not just to be fast, but to feel like a Ferrari even when there’s no combustion engine.

Market positioning pricing and what it means for India & beyond

Reports say that the starting price for Ferrari’s first electric car will exceed €500,000 (≈US$535,000) – a sign that it remains an ultra-premium proposition, not a mainstream EV. Customer deliveries are expected to start around October 2026, with full design reveal in spring 2026. 

For India and other emerging markets the import cost, duties and positioning will likely keep the Elettrica firmly in the collector/enthusiast bracket. If it maintains its price premium, it will compete more with other ultra-luxury electric performance models rather than regular EVs.

From a market-trend perspective, Ferrari’s move signals that even brands built on combustion are embracing electrification. Yet, by moderating its EV target to 20% of sales by 2030, Ferrari acknowledges that the high-performance, luxury EV segment remains niche. For Indian buyers who prioritise “brand + performance” and have the means, Elettrica will stand out as a bold statement of both heritage and future tech.
